Biology: Physiology Scientific area: Biomedical Sciences
The applicants seeking admission to the doctoral study programme in biology must hold a Master's Degree or equivalent qualification in biomedical sciences: sports physiology, biology, biochemistry, biophysics, nursing, physiotherapy, public health or other relevant discipline. The doctoral programme includes studies, an original research project, and writing and defence of doctoral dissertation. The doctoral students are required to complete at least three study subjects (two of them are obligatory: Cell Biochemistry and Physiology and System Theory), collecting no less than 20 credits (30 ECTS). The duration of doctoral studies is 4 years. The doctoral student who has completed the doctoral programme, has demonstrated his or her independent research ability and has successfully and defended the dissertation is conferred the Doctor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. Over the last 10 years, nearly 40 dissertations have been successfully defended by the students of this post-graduate study programme. After completing the PhD programme, the graduates have promising career opportunities in research related work and graduate-level teaching. |
