Project Activities
NORDIC AND BALTIC NETWORK FOR SPORTS COACH TRAINING (NBN COACH TRAINING)
ACTIVITY 1: NETWORK MEETING
The purpose of this activity is through the holding of an annual network meeting to deepen and expand cooperation activities between the partner institutions so that the network will have the strength to keep on developing new joint activities.
During this first annual meeting it is the specific purpose to explore the possibilities for developing a cooperation and development of:
• the Network website as a platform for exchange and dissemination of knowledge, experience and best practice and a forum for discussions in coach training;
• the first Nordic-Baltic coach training seminar to students, teachers, trainers and coaches for the exchange of good practice in sports coaching and training;
• the mobility scheme for students and young coaches providing them with an opportunity to learn from the experience and expertise of other countries in the area of sports coaching.
ACTIVITY 2: SEMINAR ON QUALITY ASSURANCE IN COACH TRAINING PROGRAM
The purpose of this activity is:
• To promote joint development and quality assurance in coach training.
• To share knowledge on the content and learning methods in the respective curricula of the partner institutions.
• To develop the professional competences of the theoretical and practical educators, also considering the fact that some institutions have educators, who do not have a specific background as coaches.
• To promote the interest and application of evidence-based knowledge at the partner institutions.
ACTIVITY 3: STUDENT AND EDUCATOR MOBILITY
The purpose of this activity is:
• To create a positive partnership with shared responsibilities for the development of valuable network activities
• To develop an effective network organisation and a good information flow between partners, for example early information about theoretical courses and practical courses that can be available or useful for exchange students.
• To share knowledge about sports coach profession, related professional education and the culture in the respective Nordic and Baltic countries through student, educator and young coaches’ mobility.
ACTIVITY 4: INTENSUCE COURSE "SPORTS COACHING (basics)"
The purpose of this activity is:
• To promote joint development and quality assurance in coach training.
• To share knowledge on the content and learning methods in the respective curricula of the partner institutions.
• To develop the professional competences of the theoretical and practical educators, also considering the fact that some institutions have educators, who do not have a specific background as coaches.
