Course description:
The aim of the study programme is to train highly qualified specialists who are able to: demonstrate critical thinking; analyse, interpret and report research results; apply the best current research findings in clinical practice; formulate a research hypothesis; plan and perform the research work.
After graduating from the Master’s programme, the students will be able to demonstrate the ability to apply clinical reasoning to solve different problems of patients; to apply the principles of evidence based practice in clinical settings; to provide services based on the best currently available research findings in all areas of physiotherapy practice, including examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and intervention as well as prevention measures; to demonstrate the ability to evaluate critically evolving theories or techniques relevant to physiotherapy practice; to demonstrate the abilities to meet the challenges of independent physiotherapy practice; to demonstrate the ability to engage in reflective practice through critical self-assessment and commitment to continuous, lifelong learning.
Admission criteria:
Applicants should hold Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy and/or equivalent professional qualification obtained at a certified higher education institution. Graduates from higher education institutions outside Lithuania may be required to follow an individual study plan, which would minimize any programme differences.

EUROPEAN MASTERS IN BASKETBALL COACHING
Degree awarded: Master of Science in Basketball Coaching

Course description:
The University of Worcester (UK) in partnership with the Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) have launched the European Masters degree in Basketball Coaching. The course is endorsed by the Federation for International Basketball in Europe (FIBA Europe). The course is based on the strategic advantage of combining the two institutions’ and countries strengths both in the basketball field and in affiliated areas.
This course provides students with a unique opportunity to combine studies with elite sports activities. The course enables current practitioners to develop their conceptual and theoretical understanding in the field of Sports Coaching Science. Practical skills in a range of scientific disciplines will be further developed in order to enhance the coaching process. The course requires students to critically reflect upon contemporary principles and practices in sports coaching. The course will be of interest to coaches, senior players, coach educators and students throughout Europe who have an interest in developing the game and players.
Admission criteria:
Students will normally have a good first degree in a coaching related degree. Students who hold a lower coaching-related degree classification or a non-coaching related degree will be considered on a case by case basis and may be required to submit a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate coaching experience. A critical understanding of the game and coaching process is a basic requirement of admission.

SUMMER COURSE IN SPORTS COACHING
Course description:
The aim of the course is to develop the theoretical knowledge of athlete training, to teach to analyze creatively and critically modern technologies of athlete training;- to provide knowledge of the component parts of sports training, the main principles of athlete training, peculiarities of long term athlete training, principles of selection and training of young athletes, principles of classification of sports, types and systems of competitions; - to develop the skills needed for the planning and management of athlete training.
Admission criteria:
The applicants should hold a certificate of secondary education and have minimum one year coaching experience.

DIPLOMA IN SPORTS COACHING
Course description:
This one year non-degree study programme is designed to provide knowledge and skills for individuals working or planning to work in the fields related to sports coaching and to introduce students to the latest advancements in sports science, to develop their ability to maintain professional competence and to establish foundation for further degree studies.
During the programme, students will increase their knowledge and understanding through both theoretical studies and practical training skills; they will learn how to coach and deliver sports programs for all ages and skill levels – from kids to adults, and from beginners to experienced athletes; they will find out how nutrition and other sports sciences can maximise training results and optimise an athlete’s performance; and they will improve your knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics for sport.
The B Diploma in Sport Coaching is a part of the Bachelor of Sports programme. The programme consists of 8 compulsory courses shared with Bachelor of Sport students.
Admission Criteria:
The applicants should hold a certificate of secondary education, be proficient in English and/or Russian and have basic knowledge in Human Anatomy and Biology.
